Bessie L. (Brisbois) Aiello (87) of Toppenish passed away on Sunday August 30, 2015.

She was born in Wapato on April 23, 1928 to Ray and Georgia (Olney) Brisbois. Bessie was raised and educated in the Yakima Valley and was an enrolled member of the Umatilla Tribe. Bessie was a member of the Native American Church and the Washat faith and was a charter member of the Chief White Swan American Legion, life member of the VFW Post in Yakima, past president and member of the Toppenish Eagles Auxiliary #2229, board member of the Speli-yi Club and board member of the National Council of Aging. She enjoyed traveling, listening to Elvis and supporting her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Bessie is survived by three sons, Bubby Joe Eyle (Cynthia) Mills of White Swan, Clarence “Sid” (Suzette) Mills of Yelm and James Mills of Spokane; numerous grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Ada Brisbois of White Swan; special nephews, Ervin “Chipmunk” Leslie & Carl Sutterlict. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Dolores; a son, LeRoy; her grandfather, George W. Olney and great grandfather, Nathan Olney; and eight siblings, Ray Jr., George, Brady, Paul, and Marvin Brisbois; three sisters, Dora Mae Mesplie, Jeanetta and Georgia Rae Herrera.

Dressing services will be at Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2 PM. Overnight services will follow at the Toppenish Community Center with burial at the Hadley Ranch Cemetery at 9 AM Thursday
