Following her retirement, Shirley volunteered countless hours at Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Virgil Barber.
Shirley enjoyed traveling, painting and line dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Alflen, Windsor, VT; a son, Robert Alflen, Ascutney, VT; two daughters, Denise Kaplin, North Kingstown, RI; Audrey Alflen, Concord, NH; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor, VT.
