Roy E. "Ed" Craig, 84, of Vandalia, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home in Vandalia.

Services for Ed will be held at 10:30am, Friday, August 28, 2015 atthe First Church of God, Thrill Hill Rd., Vandalia with Pastor Tom Farris officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God, Fayette County Relay for Life, or Donors' Choice.

Ed was born June 13, 1931 in Brownstown, the son of Roy F. and Barbara A. (Porter) Craig. He married Frieda M. Durbin on January 20, 1954 in Brownstown; she preceded him in death on May 19, 1996. Ed worked for the City of Vandalia Street Department and for Interstate Motors and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Church of God in Vandalia, Vandalia American Legion Post #95, Vandalia VFW Post #3862, and the Brownstown VFW Post #9770.

Ed is survived by his companion of 20 years Betty Crews of Vandalia; sons Eddie Craig and wife Debbie of Moweaqua and Jack Craig and wife Brenda of South Carolina; daughter Barbara McDowell of Vandalia; step daughters Linda Fisher of Vandalia and Barbara and husband Randy Doggett of Brownstown; sisters Norma and Lulu Belle; 8 Grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Frieda Craig, daughter Diane Huskey, brother Donald Craig, sisters Linda Craig and Betty Gelsinger.
