CHARLIE MILBERN BLACKWOOD, SR., 90, of Pine Bluff, Died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Fordyce, AR.

He was Born November 28, 1924 in Yorktown (Star City), Arkansas, Son of Charlie H. and Rosa D. Aycock Blackwood.

Mr. Blackwood was Reared on a Farm and Received his Early Education in North Eastern Arkansas and Pioneer, Louisiana, Graduating from Pioneer High School.

He Served in the United States Army during World War II, Stationed in Manila, Philippines.

After the War, Mr. Blackwood Farmed, Pipelined, then Moved to Pine Bluff in the ‘50’s to Work with International Paper.

He had Charlie Blackwood Construction in the ‘60’s, along with his Cattle, and Worked as a Carpenter until Retirement.

He was a Master Craftsman, Building Many Beautiful Homes, Churches and Business’ in Pine Bluff.

Along with Carpentry, he Enjoyed Gardening and Telling Old Stories, Especially War Stories.

He also Loved Spending Time with his Dogs, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

He was Preceded in Death by his Parents; Brother, Robert Blackwood; and Infant Sister.

Survivors include his Wife, Selma Walters Blackwood, whom he Married May 26, 1948 in Oak Grove, Louisiana; Daughter, Laura Blackwood Green of Pine Bluff; Son, Charlie Blackwood, Jr. and Wife, Jana, of Mabelvale, Arkansas; Seven Grandchildren, Ashley Croft, Tara Shirley, Lindsey D. King, John David Blackwood, Joel Blackwood, Marah Aden Cromeans and Tara Rushing; and Eight Great Grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be 3:30 P.M., Friday, September 4, 2015 at Forest Cemetery in Forest, Louisiana with Reverend David Walters Officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 A.M. – Noon at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
