Mrs. Sarah Haskins Fatally lnjured in One Car Crash
Mrs. Sarah Haskins; 82, Rt. 2, Blue River, died late Thursday afternoon, Aug. 27, from injuries received earlier in the day in a one-car crash on hwy. 80 in Rock Bridge, about seven miles north of Richland Center, Mrs. Haskins was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by her husband William, 86, when Mr. Haskins turned sharply to avoid children who were playing in the street and the pickup went out of control and hit a tree. Mrs. Haskins suffered facial lacerations and fatal chest injuries. Her husband was taken to Richland Hospital and was in fair condition there with chest injuries. Mrs. Haskins is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Stafford, Boaz, and Mrs. Earl Carter, rural Muscoda; a sister, Mrs. Lida Tisdale, Blue River; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the Pratt Funeral Home in Richland Center.

Area Woman Dies in Crash
RICHLAND CENTER - Mrs. Sarah Haskins, 82, Rt. 2 Blue River, died late Thursday afternoon from injuries received earlier in the day in a one-car crash in the community of Rock Bridge. Authorities said she suffered facial lacerations and chest injuries. She was a passenger in the car driven by her husband, William A. Haskins, 86. He also suffered face and chest injuries and is hospitalized at Richland Center. Haskins, told authorities he turned sharply to avoid children who were playing in the street. The pickup truck he was driving went out of control and struck a tree, authorities said. The fatality was Richland County's third of the year.
