OBITUARY
After an illness of nearly four years although only confined to his bed for about four weeks there passed peacefully away at his residence, Northfield Station, on Wednesday, December 23, Silas A. Warner in his 69th year, being the eldest son of the late Gordon A. Warner and his wife Ellen Bradshaw.
Mr. Warner was twice married, he married Miss Lillas A. Wert, and in 1909 he married Miss Hannah M. Weegar. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, two sons by the first marriage, Fred A. of Northfield Station, and Arnold of Detroit, Michigan, and by his last marriage, a daughter, Mrs. Thos. Finlayson, nee Pauline, of Montreal, and Harold, at home. Funeral service was at the home conducted on Saturday at 1 o'clock by his Pastor Rev. J.C. Eastcott of St. James United Church, Avonmore. He took for his text "Who shall separate us from the Love of Christ". Hymns were old favorites of the deceased. Mrs. S.L. Arbuthnot and Mrs. J.W. Markell sang a duet "The Old Rugged Cross". There was a large attendance at the funeral showing the esteem in which the deceased was held. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Gideon Adams, Lunenburg, Mrs. Wm. Loucks, Moulinette, and Mrs. John Harris, Monckland, and three brothers, James of Massena, George of Toronto, and Austin at home. Pall bearers were his three sons Fred, Arnold, Harold, and three nephews Floyd Warner, Basil Loucks, and George Loucks.
