Mrs. Cathey grew up in Camden, and at age 17, she graduated from Camden High School as Salutatorian of both her Junior and Senior classes. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church for over 64 years. She was a member of United Methodist Womens where she held many offices, including President.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Cathey; her son, David Lee Cathey; and her only sister, Connie Laverne Coleman
Survivors include her son, Donald Edward Cathey and wife, Barbara of Mt. Ida; one grandchild, Sherri Lee Funk ; and one great grandchild, Braxton Donald Funk both of Maumelle; two nieces; six nephews, and two cousins.
