Mrs. Gertrude May Hemphill (nee Wright), surrounded by her loving family was called home to her Lord on Tuesday October 7th, 2014 at the age of 101.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Percy Hemphill (1979).
Loving and devoted mother of Ruth and her husband George Adams of Whitby, Rev. Leonard Hemphill and his wife Dorothy of Victoria, B.C., and Lois and her husband Wayne Lambkin of Owen Sound.
She was a proud grandmother of Greg (Bev) Adams, Janet (Bill Sunberg), Cameron (Kristyanne) Hemphill, Heather (Doug) Dixon, Jeff (Kathy) Lambkin, Jamie (Lisa) Lambkin, and Andy (Jolie) Lambkin.
Lovingly remembered by her 17 great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of the Hugh and Isabella Wright family, predeceased by her siblings Lorne, Maurice, Willis, Grace, Jean, Albert, Myrtle, Dorothy and Bernice.
Gertrude will be missed by her nieces, nephews her other relatives and many friends.
Resting at the Breckenridge Ashcroft Funeral Home, 241- 9th Street West, Owen Sound where the family will receive visitors on
Thursday October 9th, 2014 between the hours of
7:00 - 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday October 10th, at the Alliance Church, 440-7th Avenue East, Owen Sound at 11:30 am.
With prior visitation at the church from 10:45-11:15am
Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs.
