MONETA - Amos Lee Lipscomb, age 93, of Route 4, died Friday, December 14, 1990, at his residence. He was born April 24, 1897, in Henry, VA. a son of the late George T. Lipscomb and Elizabeth Mason Lipscomb. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Stevens Lipscomb. He was a member of the Saunders Grove Church of the Brethren and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He is survived by four daughters, Beatrice Amos, Vinton; Ellen Beach and Ruby Thornton, both of Alexandria; Sarah Newman, Columbus, Ohio; four sons, Marvin Lipscomb, Moneta; Dewey Lipscomb, Bedford; L.D. Lipscomb, Roanoke; Jack Lipscomb, Vinton; two sisters, Odessa Slough, Crewe; Lottie Golden, Roanoke; one brother, George Lipscomb, Hardy; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Virginia Holdren and Thelma Lam. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel in Bedford by the Rev. Randolph Abshire. Burial will be in the Stevens Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
