Sgt. Collin A. Krei, 26, of 513 Dwight St., Chippewa Falls, died suddenly on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015 at his residence.

Collin was born June 24, 1989 in Eau Claire, the son of Jerome Benzschawel and Karen Krei.

Collin served in the Marines from August 2010 to December 2013 and was an active reservist and he had earned the rank of sergeant.

Collin enjoyed outdoor recreational activities, motorcycling, hunting, four-wheeling and also playing video games.

Collin worked for the Canadian National Railway.

Collin is survived by: his mother, Karen Brovan (Doug Bresina) of Chippewa Falls; his father, Jerome Benzschawel of Withee; half-brother, Ryan Brovan of Eau Claire; half-sister, Kelsey Brovan of Eau Claire; maternal grandma, Gloria Krei of Thorp; aunt, Kimberley (Robert) Ottinger of Thorp; cousin, Emily Ottinger; other relatives and friends; and his friends, Lacey Bowe, Robert Koivisto-Szany, both of Chippewa Falls, and Matt Eslinger of Eau Claire.

Collin was preceded in death by: his maternal grandpa, Theodore Krei; and paternal grandparents, Ervin and Bernadine Benzschawel.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Deacon Dan Rider will be officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in the township of Warner, Greenwood. Military rites will be conducted.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Friday, Sept. 11 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls.
