Ralph Andrew Biggs, 85 of Dyers Store, Henry County, Va., went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 7, 2015 at home. He was born January 8, 1930 to the late Isaac Biggs and Elizabeth Patterson Biggs. He attended schools in Martinsville, worked for DuPont for 34 years, and at the time of his death was a farmer. Mr. Biggs served in United States navy during the Korean War. He attended Gospel Baptist Church in Collinsville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Biggs was preceded in death by a son, Billy Biggs and three sisters, Angeline Cobbler, Marie Bennett and Ann Davis.
Mr. Biggs is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Turner Biggs, of the home; a daughter, Barbara Fields, of Martinsville; two sons, Tommy Biggs and Stanley Biggs, of Martinsville; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at the funeral home with Payton Gilbert officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in the Biggs family cemetery.
