Red Cross Worker. Founder of the Australian Wounded and Missing Inquiry Bureau in the First World War.
Youngest daughter of Alfred (Australia's second Prime Minister) and Elizabeth Martha Anne (nee Browne) Deakin. Wife of Sir Thomas White.
Vera & Thomas had four daughters, namely, Lillian (b. 1921), Patricia (b. 1923), Shirley (b. 1925), Judith (b. 1929).
She was appointed O.B.E. in 1917 at the age of 25 years.
Vera was cremated at the Springvale Botanical Cemetery, aged 86 years. Her ashes were initially collected by her family and later interred next to her husband.
