Charles Asberry York, 71, of Drasco died Thursday, July 7, 2005 at his home.

He was born Sunday, September 10, 1933 in Marcella, Arkansas the son of James William York and Ethel Martin York. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer and a member of the Ben Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Lou York of Drasco; one son, Gary York of Drasco; three daughters, Teresa York, Linda Cousins, and Trena Martin, all of Drasco; two stepdaughters, Debbie Clark and Terrie James, both of Drasco; five sisters, Marie Stair of Vancouver, Washington, Martha Sutton of Desha, Anna Allgood of Floral, Dorothy King of Marcella, and Shirley West of Drasco; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Robbins, Ashley and Matt Deckard, Cody and Courtney York, Heath Cousins, Kristen and Charlie Martin all of Drasco; four great-grandchildren, Madison Robbins, Ashlyn Deckard, Bryar and Braxton Cousins all of Drasco; six step-grandchildren, Deanna James, Clint and Justin Clark, Cole Goodson and Cody James all of Drasco and Gary Bracey of Batesville; two step-great-grandchildren, Bailey and Brody James of Drasco; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Margaret Cannon and Jean Pruitt.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Sutton, Randell Sutton, Mel West, Johnny West, Walt Pruitt and Wes Pruitt.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Cornett, Lester Cornett and Delton Rollins

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at York Cemetery in Marcella with Jackie Prince and Lynn Smith officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
