Samuel M. Selden died early this morning at his country home, "Hickory Hall," Buckingham County, after an illness of several weeks from heart disease. He was 60 years of age and leaves a family consisting of his wife and nine children, four boys and five girls, as follows: Misses Emily, Marie, Grace and Esther Selden, S. M. Selden Jr. of Buckingham, Kirby Selden of Fauquier County, John Selden of Richmond, Churchill Selden of Hinton W Va, Mrs. H. H. Gilliam of Farmville. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, and the interment will be in the family burying ground. Richmond Times-Dispatch, March 4.
