Janis Grover Williams, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 25, 2015. She has touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jan was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Parker to Eugene and Ruth Parkinson Grover. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1954. She attended beauty school and received her cosmetology license in 1956. Her family spent most of their summers living in Yellowstone Park, where her father worked. She worked there for several summers as well.

She married Gerard Hoddenbach in 1957, later divorced. They were blessed with three sons, Bill, Jim and John. In September of 1989, she married her high school sweetheart, Duane Williams, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Missouri for two years before returning to Idaho Falls.

Jan had many and varied interests throughout her life. She was a faithful and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was proud to have achieved the MIA Golden Gleaner Award and of her membership in the D.U.P. She served in various church callings, including Relief Society president, Webelos leader, teacher and librarian.
She loved music, singing, dancing, reading and hummingbirds. She treasured her relationships with her friends, far and near. She loved Native American art and turquoise. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., visiting national parks and monuments.

She lived in: Idaho; Wyoming; Montana; Missouri; Everglades National Park; Lubbock, Texas; Las Vegas; Grand Canyon National Park; Zion National Park; Cedar Break National Monument; Capitol Reef National Park; and Lyman, Utah.

She faced many painful physical challenges in life. We are grateful she is no longer confined by the physical body that kept her from doing the things she loved.

Jan is survived by her husband, Duane; brother, Larry (RaeAnne) Grover of Ririe; sons, Bill (Sandra) Hoddenbach of Bountiful, Utah, Jim (Jeanne) Hoddenbach of Farmington, Utah, and John (Tammie) Hoddenbach of Meridian, Idaho; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Duane's children, Dirk, Kyle and Kynne Williams, and their children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, at Idaho Falls LDS 28th Ward Chapel, 1165 Azalea Drive, with Bishop Mark Argyle officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.
