Tommy Adkisson, my great-great-uncle, never married and was a resident of the Walnut Hill area at the time of his death. His death record and Sharp Funeral Home record confirm his interment in the Harriman Cemetery; however, his grave was never marked, so its location is unknown. According to my great-aunt Glenna (Adkisson) King (1903-1996), the site of his grave was in the lower left section (at the foot of the hill) when one first enters the cemetery. Tommy's dates come from his death record except for his year of birth. His death record listed it as 1859, but the 1860 Morgan County, Tennessee, Census confirms the year as 1860. Tommy was a charter member of the Harriman Seventh-day Adventist Church (now called Roane Community).
