Initially buried at Folly Island S.C, the bodies were reinterred at Beaufort National Cemetery a few years later.
Only a handful of the 117th regiments Folly Island casualties have marked graves at Beaufort.

Norman's half brother James A Collins who also served in Co. A, died of typhoid fever at home in Vernon on the 18th. October 1863.
The father of the two boys, Robert Ash served in Co. D of the 146th. New York Infantry from 1862 to 1863.
Both are buried in Vernon Village Cemetery N.Y.
Norman appears to have an unmarked grave.
