Robert Bynum Albritton II, 78, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at his home in Oxford, MS.
Born in Andalusia, AL, Dr. Albritton had received his PhD from Northwestern University in Illinois. He moved to Oxford in 1996 to work at the University of Mississippi as a professor of political science in the Liberal Arts department. Having played football, he was an avid football fan. He was an animal lover who often volunteered at the animal shelter as a "paw-walker". Dr. Albritton also supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
There will be a memorial service at a later date in Andalusia. Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Nantaporn Apasiripol of Oxford, MS; one son, Robert Bynum Albritton III of Herndon, VA; one daughter, Phyllis Mary-Anne Albritton of Evergreen, CO; one brother, William Leonard Albritton of Saskatoon, Canada; 3 grandchildren.
