Zeb joined the United States Army, in 1942, where he served his country until 1948, as a Staff Sergeant.
He relocated to Columbus, Ohio and became a sanitation worker for the City of Columbus.
Zeb married Golden Braxton. In 1950 he married to Zelma Cabiness, and in 1954, he married Mary Lillard, they were divorced in 1974.

Zeb is survived by his mother, Cleo Wagoner; sister, Myrtle Layton, step-sisters, Annie Reeves, Valinda Cotton, his children, nieces, nehews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
