Trooper Ponder was a member of the Church of Christ in Elizabethtown. He was stationed at Kentucky State Police at Post 1 in Mayfield and he was a combat veteran with more than five years of service in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors.
Survivors include his father, Joseph Ponder of Radcliff; his mother, Brenda Tiffany and her husband, Allan, of Rineyville; his fiancée, Chrystal Coleman of Radcliff; a sister, Kelly Ponder of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Damon Tiffany and Travis Tiffany; his grandma, Erika Shook of Vine Grove; a niece, Mahlea Starks of Elizabethtown; and a host of family and friends. Burial with military honors.∼Trooper Ponder was shot and killed by an individual after a 9 mile pursuit.
