ZEIGLER - Agnes P. "A.P." Weir, 79, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, in Parkway Manor in Marion. Agnes was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Zeigler to Robert and Mary (Bothwell) Weir. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, William J. and Barbara Weir of St. Charles, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; two sisters, Mary Burpo and Jean Will; and a brother, Robert "Scotty" Weir, preceded her in death. A.P. retired from Olin Industries in Herrin and was a homemaker. She had attended Zeigler First Christian Church. She was known as the lady with the little black dog who walked the circle.
In accordance with Ms. Weir's wishes she will be cremated. Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in Zeigler Cemetery, with Brother Don Walters officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Ms. Weir may be made to the First Responders, c/o City of Zeigler, 301 Church St., Zeigler, IL 62999. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
