He departed this life on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at his home at the age of 79 years, 5 months & 17 days.
Growing up, JD attended grade school at Rogers Elementary in Tulsa, OK.
He graduated from High School in Henderson, NV & also attended some courses at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK.
JD served his country proudly in the US.Marine Corps.
On July 31, 1977, in Chouteau, OK, JD & Glenda Faye (Storie) Nutter were united in marriage.
JD had worked as a lineman & construction supervisor for the Chouteau Telephone Company for over 30 years, retiring in 2000.
He was involved in the First Baptist Church in Locust Grove.
JD was also involved in the VFW. He enjoyed fishing.
JD's biggest love was auto racing, having owned his own cars for over 20 years.
He was involved in Enduro, Factory Stock, & Grand National racing. He was always known to be loving, caring, & a jokester.
JD is survived by: his wife of over 37 years, of the home; 2 daughters, 1 son, 1 step-daughter, 2 step-sons, 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; mother-in-law Many more relatives & friends. Special additions to the family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents & twin great grandchildren: Kelsie & Kyle Sweeney.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M., Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the Baker residence, 7156 E 566 Rd, Locust Grove, Oklahoma.
Cremation services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
