Casualty of the Great War,George served with 18B T.F. Depot-North Somerset Yeomanry~Service No:165769.

He was 27 and the son of William Charles and Susannah Jane Day of Kingswood, Bristol.

He was accepted for commemoration as war dead on September 15th 2015, and his name was immediately added to the United Kingdom Book of Remembrance until such time as the grave details had been verified.

His brother, Private John Joseph Day aged 25 also fell whilst serving in France with the 8th Bn. Somerset Light Infantry~ Service No:34322. He died 28th April 1917 and having no known grave is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Bay 4. He is remembered on the Family Grave.
