Steele, Frank J.

Frank J. Steele, age 85, a former resident of St. Nazianz, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Chilton.

Frank was born on July 14, 1930, son of the late Daniel and Mary (Festie) Steele in Bismark, North Dakota. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. On August 13, 1951 he married Margorie Peters. Together they owned and operated a bar in Milwaukee and enjoyed many trips around the country. HWY 66 was the most memorable trip the two of them took together. Frank was employed with Harley Davidson in Milwaukee, as well as other various jobs before moving to St. Nazianz; where he was employed with Ameriquip until his retirement in 2000. He was a jack of all trades and was always known for his hard work and dedication.

He enjoyed watching Packer games at Butch & Nanner's Opera House as well taking casino trips. Frank look forward to his weekly pool leagues, with his partner Nanner in St. Nazianz and the Kiel area.

Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years: Margorie Steele, St. Nazianz; a son: Thomas Steele, Milwaukee; two grandchildren: Jill and Brian Steele, Milwaukee; and a brother-in-law: Buzz Peters. He is further survived by his special friends: Nancy "Nanner" Schultz and Dawn & Jerry Hathaway all of St. Nazianz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Daniel & Mary Steele; brother: Daniel Steele; sister: Mary (Bill) Weiss and brothers-in-law: and sisters-in-law: Joyce, Sonny, Jack and Betty.

Cremation has occurred and a Memorial Service for Frank will be held at a later date.

A Memorial Fund has been established in Frank's name.

The Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
