Mrs. Anna (Jansma) Dykstra, age 88, of Hull, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015, in a tragic motor vehicle accident while resting in her room at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Anna Bertha was born on March 26, 1927, in rural Fairview, South Dakota, the daughter of Nicholas and Bertha (Bunning) Jacobsma. She attended church and school at Inwood, Iowa. Then she moved to a farm south of Doon at the age of nine, where she went to a country school and the Doon High School. Anna moved to Rock Valley and worked at the Council Oaks Store, the bakery and also the Hull hospital.

On December 28, 1945, she married Floyd John Jansma, Sr. in Hull. They farmed northwest of Hull, where she was a homemaker, and they were blessed with eleven children. She was known for always having plenty of food on the table; whoever worked on the farm was invited into their home for a good meal.

Floyd passed away on June 4, 1999, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after 53 years of marriage.

Survivors include nine children, Tunis L. Jansma, and his wife, Linda, of Rock Rapids; Jimmy Jansma, and his wife, Barb, of Hudsonville, Michigan; Dennis Jansma, of Hull, and his wife, Sue Jansma, of Sioux Falls; Carl Jansma, and his wife, Judy, of Sioux Falls; Ranae, and her husband Mike Kooistra, of Doon; Floyd Jansma, Jr., of Hull; Darla, and her husband, Kevin Vaandrager, of Sheldon; Mark Jansma, of Omaha, Nebraska; and Phillip Jansma, of Des Moines, and Wanda Jansma, of Hull; 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren (and another due in November); a great-great-grandson; two step-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jennie Jansma, of Rock Rapids.

On October 23, 2001, she married Dick Dykstra in Hull, and they had thirteen years of marriage. They made their home in Hull where they were members of the Hope Christian Reformed Church.

Hobbies that she enjoyed were crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, watching birds from their window, having flowers, crocheting, and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Additional survivors include her husband, Dick, his six children, and their families.

Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Betty Ann; a son, Wally Lorne, in 1969; a son-in-law, Curtiss Blankespoor, in 1996; two granddaughters, Shari and Julie Jansma; a sister, Ella Mae Parkinson, in 1973; and a step-son, Paul Dykstra.

Our mother will always be remembered as a very loving mother to all her children and grandchildren. She had a very kind heart and always enjoyed helping other people.
