The Huntsville Times, Tuesday, April 2, 1966: Billy Joe Cobb, 33, Rt. 1, New Market, died this morning at his residence. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Laughlin-Service chapel, Rev. Gene Larkin and Rev. Lonzie Byrum officiating. Burial will be in Miller’s Cemetery, Laughlin-Service directing. Mr. Cobb was a farmer of Plevna Community and was an employee of Martin Stamping and Stove Company, Huntsville. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Olga Mason Cobb; a daughter, Miss Marsha Cobb; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Cobb, New Market; three brothers, Paul Cobb and Charles Cobb, both of New Market, and James Cobb, Viet Nam; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Kelly, Kingston, Tenn., Mrs. Genell Ricketts, Huntsville, and Mrs. Betty Lou Holder, New Market. Active pallbearers will be Rufus Moore, Billy Howard, Aovia Holder, Ores Preston, Edward Gray and Hollis Teague. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Frank Haws, Dr. Charles Merryman, Orville Underwood, Grady Jobe, Pickett Esslinger and employees of the Gas assembly departments of Martin Stamping and Stove Company.
