James E. King, 78, of Cato died at his home Sunday night after a three-year illness.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Berge funeral home in Valders and 1:30 p.m. at the Valders West church, the Rev. Norman Berntson officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. King was born in Oneida, Wis., in 1870. He had lived in Manitowoc county since coming here in 1923. He married in 1907. His wife died last January.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Walter Stenzel of Valders and Mrs. Bernard Frazier of Manitowoc; six sons, Beaton, Joseph and Charles of Valders, George of Port Washington, DeForest of Green Bay and Cpl. James King Jr. of the U.S. army; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday noon until time of services. The casket will not be opened at church.
