Fred M. Scannell, 56, of 116 S. Cedar St., died today at 4:35 a.m. in St. Mary's Hospital, where he was a patient since Feb. 28.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Foley Mortuary, where friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery.

Mr. Scannell was born July 9, 1907, at Kewanee, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 33rd Infantry Division, Illinois National Guard.

Survivors are a brother, John F. Scannell of Quincy, and a sister, Mrs. W. A. Brown of Burbank, Calif.
