Jesse Marvin Wallace was the youngest son of James William and Nancy Elizabeth Dolinger Wallace. Our family always referred to him as Baby Marvin because he was the youngest and he died very young. One of my older cousins, Earl Wood, gave me a small box with several very old items in it. I was delighted to be given a very old, New Testment. On the back page was a list of "all the children" of James W. and Elizabeth and their birthdays. Marvin is listed with his first name, JESSE, Wow, we had never heard this. Also, it list his birth date and birth year, April 20 , 1918. It list his 4 brothers, William Delmar, Thomas Franklin, Walter Lee and James Wesley Wallace (my dad) and his 1 sister, Bertha Mae Wallace.Marvin and all his siblings were born in McDowell County. They lived at Kyle, WV.

After the death of his father, his mother had moved back to Whitetop Mountain, Grayson County, VA where she was born They lived next to her dad, Wesley Washington Dolinger, stepmom Alice, and their 3 children, Robert Fred, Larma Ethel, and Ennis Luada Dolinger

Marvin died when he was only 4 years, 7 months, and 4 days old. His Certificate of Death states the cause of death to be the Croop and Pneumonia. The doctor states that his date of birth was "not given to me". He was buried at Whitetop, Grayson County, VA. It does not mention which cemetery in which he is buried. I searched for his grave in all of "THE FIND A GRAVE CEMETERIES", located at Whitetop, but could not find his burial place. He might not have had a headstone. I will keep searching.

My cousin Gail, Bertha's daughter gave me the beautiful portrait of my dad, James Wesley, her mother, Bertha Mae and their baby brother Jesse Marvin Wallace. This is a precious treasure to me.
