At age 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in World War II aboard U.S.S. Admiral W.S. Benson. A.C. was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in August 1946 and almost immediately came home to a job at General Dynamics where he was the Superintendent of Electronic Dept over flight line final assembly, supporting overseas airplanes. He would stay employed at General Dynamics for more than 40 years. In 1990, at age 63, A.C. retired from G.D. after 43 years and 18 days.
At age 19, he met a young, beautiful woman from New York when he and a buddy went on a double-date at the Coconut Grove Nite Club in Ft. Worth on Jacksboro Hwy. It wasn't long and they were married . . . on February 6, 1947.
In 1961, A.C. and Rita were elated to adopt a baby boy, their only son, Daniel.
On September 18, 2015, A.C. passed away peacefully with his son, Dan and his family at his side.
