Marie Gaither, 91, formerly of 201 E. John St., Alexandria, died Tuesday at the Alexandria Convalescent Center after an extended illness.
She was born in Perkinsville and had resided in Alexandria all of her life. She was the last surviving charter member of the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene.
Her husband, Robert Gaither, preceded her in death in 1980.
Surviving are one daughter, Anita (Mrs. Richard) Daugherty of Alexandria; four sons, Willis Gaither and Maurice Gaither, both of Alexandria, Arden Gaither of Lake Placid, Fla., and Lloyd Gaither of LaGrange, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Kyle and Owens Funeral Home.
