Obituary Gardner News Tuesday, November 8, 2005 Ethel H. Valley Allard Barre - Ethel H. (Washer) Valley Allard, 94, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2005 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home. She leaves her devoted husband of 67 years Raymond H. Allard;, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husband of five years, Lewis J. Valley of Hubbardston; one son David Alan Valley in 1994 and four brothers and three sister. She was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of Ethan and Alice (Nichols) Washer and lived in Greenfield for 13 years, Florida for 31 years and the last 10 years in Barre. Ethel held numerous office jobs working at Lunt's Silversmith's and Bruce's Advertising, both of Greenfield. She enjoyed bowling and ceramics. She loved reading, knitting, sewing and crocheting. She liked to play cards, bingo and was a member of the Hubbardston Golden Age Club. Ethel was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Westminster. There are no calling hours. Donations can be made to the Baldwinville Nursing Home Activities Fund, 51 Hospital Rd., Baldwinville, MA 01436. Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 S. Barre Rd., Barre is directing the arrangements.
