Paul J. Hoyer, age 93, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Paul was born on September 12, 1922 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Joseph and Anita Klinkner Hoyer. Paul attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1940. In 1941 Paul entered the Unites States Air Force. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force Paul returned to Manitowoc and was employed with Mirro Aluminum from where he retired in 1987. On September 1, 1956 he married Joan P. Kurth at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Paul was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and in past years he was a member of the former Holy Innocents Church Mens Choir. He enjoyed bowling and golfing.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Joan; one daughter and son-in-law: Marcia and Gary Maylander, Two Rivers; four step children: Earl Herzog, Manitowoc; Linda (Mike) Konopacki, Madison; John (Laura) Herzog, Glendale; Laura (John) Schlei, Manitowoc; nine grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one sister: Florence Herman, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Anita Hoyer; and one brother: Bill Hoyer.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. on Thursday , September 24, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Michael Warden. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of the cremains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. Following the funeral service there will be a luncheon for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
