He was born on February 25, 1950 in Muncie, the son of Kenneth and Opal (Hurn) Abercrombie.
Kenneth attended Muncie Southside High School, after high school he joined the US Marine Corp. and he served during the Vietnam War where he received a purple heart. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans. Kenneth enjoyed wood working, riding his Harley and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Sandra L. Abercrombie; son, John (wife, Charlene) Abercrombie; daughter, Michelle (husband, Jonathan) Prater; two step-children, Tony Hart and Tamara Hart; his father and mother; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Gross.
He was preceded in death by step-son, Joseph Hart and brother, Keith Abercrombie Sr.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Sound the Alarm Church of God, 3100 E McGalliard Rd, with Pastor Joey Prewitt officiating. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery.
