Frank Joseph Potts Jr. was proudly welcomed into this world on December 8, 1962 in Yankton, SD to Gerald H. and Beverly J. (Yule) Potts. He was greeted into heaven on August 18, 2015 with a loving bear hug and a deck of cards by his son Shawn.

Having spent his youth on the family farm, Frank loved the outdoors. When he wasn't working the land beside his father he could be found fishing and hunting with family & friends. Frank graduated from Crofton High School in 1981 and attended Northeast Community College - but the farm was where he knew he belonged. Frank married Jill Schiedel on January 21, 1984. To this union two beautiful blessings were welcomed, Matthew and Shawn. Frank's life was enriched by his sons. Whether it was coaching basketball or sharing his love of hunting & cards, his sons' brought joy and endless love to his life.

The death of his son Shawn due to a car accident at the age of 17 wore heavy on his heart but farming with Matthew brought a wonderful brightness to his world.

Frank is survived by his son, Matthew Potts of Crofton; mother & stepfather Beverly & Tom Hanson of Yankton, SD; four sisters and spouses Vicki and Charles Kleinschmit of Coleridge, Deb and David Kube of Crofton, Teri and Aaron Biermann of Wisner, Lisa Fields of Elk Creek; many nieces and nephews; his "surrogate" daughter Cassandra Lammers of Fordyce; and his fiance Angela Perine of Milwaukee, WI.
