Yunette graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1987. She was serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the time of her death. She and her companion, Gabriela Maria Cristina Nieva, were asphyxiated in their sleep due to a malfunctioning gas heater.
