Lee R. Schneck, 66, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday evening at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Born Dec. 27, 1948, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Clarence and Pearl R. Reber Schneck.
He was a 1967 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.
Lee was a combat veteran in the Army during the Vietnam War, having served with the 25th Infantry Division. His accommodations include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal and various service, individual and unit accommodations.
A loving husband, devoted father, brother and son, Lee lived life with an air of comfort, kindness and joy. Quick to make everyone laugh, he easily found humor in any and all situations. A simple yet charming man, Lee never hesitated to lend his hand to people in need.
Lee had strength of mind and strength of back to do anything he wanted, yet he humbly chose to farm in the Schneck tradition. He spent most of his life in Maple Breeze farm fostering his love of family and agriculture.
His wife of 44 years, Jane Schwalm Schneck, preceded him in death on March 11, 2015.
Surviving are three daughters, Stacia L. Schneck, Lancaster, Monica J. Schneck, wife of Brian G. Haines, Schuylkill Haven, Adria R. Schneck, Bowie, Md.; a son, Jed R. Schneck and fiancee, Maria E. DeMoya, Boca Raton, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Noah P., Liam R. and Cavan G. Zechman, Onya L. Yurkiewicz, Ayla J. and Teagan L. Schneck-Haines, Nia P., Avery J., Kyla R. and Micah R. Scott, Broderick L. and Robert T. Schneck; four stepgrandchildren, Melody, Joshua, Ryan and Kevin Haines; three step-great-grandchildren, Briella Haines, Davian and Jaidan Hampton; a sister, Carol, wife of Donald Behney, Schuylkill Haven; his stepmother, Dora Harner Kohr Schneck, Tremont.
A memorial service was held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 19 E. Pottsville St., Pine Grove, with Dr. Ira C. Lydic officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the convenience of the family. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, had charge of arrangements.
