Ruth grew up on a farm outside of Pound, Wis. Besides working on the farm, she walked to Coleman everyday rain, snow or shine to attend school and graduated from Coleman High School.
She later met and married her lifelong husband, Lester, the farm's milkman. They lived in Crivitz, WI, where they had and raised three children. Ruth lived a life devoted to the well-being of others. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She remained involved with the community of Crivitz: she served as president of the local PTA, worked as a clerk for elections, was a member of St. Mary’s Parish Crivitz where she sang in the choir and was a member of the local ladies' social club.
Ruth was preceded by her husband, Lester; her beloved daughter, Cindy (Delbert) Wallgren; six sisters; three brothers; three half-sisters; four half-brothers; and great-grandson, Calvin.
She is survived by two sons: Peter (Dawn) of Crivitz, WI and Thomas Lester Kertesz [2/24/1944-10/5/2016 of Santa Monica, CA]; grandchildren: Marnie, Tod, Danica, Peter Jr., Amara, Elissa, Irene, William and Jacqueline; and 24 great-grandchildren.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz, Friday, September 25 from 9 a.m. until going to St. Mary’s Church for the Funeral at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fredrick Sserugga officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
