CUMBERLAND — Eleanore H. Shobe, 96, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation in Cumberland.

Born Aug. 9, 1915 in Grafton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ethel E (Harne) Stewart (1887–unk) . She was preceded in death by her husband, Nola G. (Pete) Shobe ; sister-in-laws, Beatrice Thompson, Clarice Fraley and Evelyn Shobe with whom she resided for many years.

Eleanore had worked for the former Crystal Laundry and volunteered at Memorial Hospital for over 15 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Cumberland.

Surviving are her niece, Anna (Jeanette) Long and husband James of Westminster; nephew, Robert Fraley and wife Anne of Freeport, Ill.; great-nephew, Craig Fraley and wife Joyce of Keyser, W.Va.; great-nephew, Stephen Thompson and wife Ashley, Cresaptown.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifuneralhomes.com) on Monday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Mike Leedom officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
