OLATHE — Carolyn Faye Harris, 60, of Olathe, formerly of Parsons, passed away at 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at the home of her son, Jamie Harris, in Olathe.
She was born Oct. 6, 1954, in Wichita to Marzetta (Darkis) Harris and James Harris. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Parsons where she attended Douglass Elementary School, McKinley Elementary School, Parsons Junior High School and Parsons Senior High School.
Carolyn was a dedicated employee of Boeing in Wichita where she was an assembly line worker. She loved outings with her friends and family. Like her mother, she enjoyed reading love stories, westerns, black documentaries and novels. Carolyn was a real daddy’s girl. She was well liked by many and a fun person to be around. She lived life to the fullest and cherished her family.
Surviving loved ones include her children, Angela Harris of Atlanta, Georgia, LeRoy Nelson III of Pittsburg, Israel Harris of Olathe, Krystal Harris, Cornelius Harris, Sheika Dulin, all of Evansville, Indiana, and Jerry Dulin II of Parsons; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Maureen Burton of California, Candace Harris of Parsons and Sandra Harris of Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Leona Harrell and Pamela Harris.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
A celebration of life gathering will be hosted by Carolyn’s family from 7:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday at the Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 105 Main, in Parsons.
