Munyon was born Dec. 9, 1936 in Alva, Okla. In 1940, he moved with his family to Glendale, where he attended school.
As a young man, he worked for the Ten-mile Hog Ranch.
He also worked at the Robert Dollar Mill and spent three years in the Oregon National Guard.
On May 31, 1958, in Glendale, he married Sally Johns, who survives him.
In 1967 he moved to Grants Pass and owned and drove a log truck for 17 years.
From 1977 to 2005, he drove long-haul trucks for Fourply and then retired.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He also enjoyed gambling, traveling and watching and supporting school sports activities.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Jim Munyon of Grants Pass; two daughters, Melinda Munyon and Robyn Lanham, both of Grants Pass; three sisters, Jane Graville of Dundee, Virginia McKernan of Olympia, Wash., and Irene Cradock of Springfield; four brothers, Art Munyon of Riddle, C.A. Munyon Jr. of Glendale, Don Munyon of Springfield, and Jesse Munyon of San Rafael, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
