Glenn Bancroft Dies Sunday
Funeral Services Held Yesterday

The death of Glenn Atwood Bancroft occurred at the John McDonald hospital at 7:30 Sunday evening, following an extended illness of heart trouble. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Rev. Glenn W. McMichael, pastor of the church, officiated. Interment was made at Oakwood cemetery. The Masonic ritual was presented at the grave by Leigh Clark, worshipful master, and other officers. Mr. Bancroft was a past master of Bums Lodge No. 173 A. F. and A. M. and was also a former member of the Monticello fire department.

A son of Hiram P. and Izora A. Bancroft, the subject of this sketch was born in Dubuque county July 24, 1897. He moved to Monticello with his parents 20 years ago and was associated with his father in operating the Monticello pop factory, which was sold a year ago, due to Mr. Bancroft's illness. He was married Dec. 18, 1935, to Mrs. Eva Hanken. In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following step-children: Mrs. Olin Howie, Jr., and Wesley G., Naomi, Catherine and David Hanken; two grandchildren, Sandra Kay Howie and Wesley G. Hanken, Jr.

Also surviving are six sisters; Mrs. Cecil Seger, Marion; Mrs. Glenn Hall, Sidney, Mont.; Althea Bancroft, Chicago, Ill,; Mrs. C. Lloyd Bunker, Muscatine; Mrs. Russell Allen, Madison, Wis.; Mrs. William Tate, Mason City
