Ernest E. Allen of Unity died at the Carrie F. Wright hospital Tuesday of cancer of the stomach. He was born in Ferrisburg, Vt., Nov. 9, 1870, the, son ..of Henry B, and Maria (Perry) Allen. He received a common school education and on Nov. 7, 1910, Married L. Iola Rowell, who survives him. He was previously married, and from this union two children were born, Henry Allen and Mrs. Gertrude Hurd, both of this town. Besides the widow and children, surviving relatives are one brother, Ezra Allen of Pittsford, Vt., an adopted daughter, Bessie, and several grandchildren and nieces. Mr. Allen had been a resident of Unity for the past eight years, formerly residing in Newport, where he was a weaver in the Brampton Woolen Company mill. Funeral services are held at the home of his son', Thursday afternoon, at 105 South Main Street, with Rev. H. D. Hawver officiating. The bearers are John Louden, Charles Walker, Charles Wells and George Callum. Interment in Pine Grove cemetery.
