CONSUELO "CONNIE" LAREDO SELF, 86, of Alvin passed away September 21, 2015. She was born November 26, 1928 in Silsbee, Texas to parents, Jose and Catalina (Munos) Laredo. Connie moved from Quinlan, Texas 23 years ago and has lived in Alvin ever since. She was of the Catholic faith. Connie was a den mother (Boy Scouts) and a member of the Alvin Police Dept. Citizens Patrol, as well as Tour de Braz.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Self; parents, Jose and Catalina Laredo; son, Rudy Garcia, Jr.; daughter, Lindy Cranford; brother, Joe Laredo; and sister, Vickie Garcia.
She is survived by her son, Samuel Garcia; daughter, Renee Guerrero and husband Orlando; grandchildren: Warren Jack Sullins and wife Heather, Diane Sullins and husband Will, Jaqueline Goddard and husband Darien, Erick Guerrero and wife Amber, Ashley Heath and husband Taron, Corrina Cranford, Cruz Cranford and wife Jackie, Cameron Cranford and wife Rebkah, and Samuel Garcia and wife Tiffany; great-grandchildren: Mathew Mcguire, Justin Mcguire, Dexter Heath, Emily Guerrero, Thomas Coward, Morgan Coward, Caelyn Garcia, Austin Garcia, Evie Garcia, Amber Sullins, Whitney Sullins, Sarah Sullins, Savannah Sullins, Gillian Goddard, Makayla Goddard, Herlinda Cranford, Liam Cranford and Devon Roush.
The family will also be celebrating the life of her son, Rudy Garcia Jr., who was born June 23, 1947 and passed away September 12, 2015.
Services for them were held Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
The visitation began at 9:00 a.m., with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Park Chapel.
Interment followed in Oak Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to any children with special needs organization.
