WASHINGTON TERRACE – Warren LeRoy Allen passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015. He was born on July 3, 1928 in Terre Haute, Indiana, a son of LeRoy and Ruth L. Bamberger Allen. The Allen family are descendants of the American Revolution. Warren was raised and educated in Terre Haute, during his early years, graduating from Honey Creek High School. He was a star athlete in high school and college.

He had a varied military career, being in the Army during WWII, serving in Korea and as a cadet candidate at West Point Military Academy and completed Advanced R.O.T.C. He was awarded Outstanding Military Engineer Medal in 1951. He taught Navy pilots how to fly the F3H Demon Fighter and obtained the Rank of Major, in the US Air Force Auxiliary, while flying search and rescue missions. Also, he was a Col. In the C.A.F.

He was a lifelong student, having graduated from Rose Polytechnic Institute, with a B.S.M.E. and having classes by many universities, Purdue, Utah State, Brigham Young, and Weber State. He graduated with a M.S.A.E. from Utah University in 1970 and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Engineering from the University of Wexford in 2001. He spent a long career in Engineering, where he was a test design engineer for Allison Div. of GMC for 12 years, a solid rocket motor design chief engineer with the Thiokol Corp. for 30 years and as President of Allen and Associates, Inc. for 26 years. He was a professional engineer in the states of Florida, Indiana, and Utah. He was a professional land surveyor in Indiana and Utah for many years.

He married Betty Joan Kenzor in 1952 and they had two sons; they later divorced. He married Sandra Bishop in 1981; they later divorced. He married Emma Jean Jones on September 21, 1983. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on May 18, 1985. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous positions.

He was a past President of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, has been a member of the VFW, Sons of the American Revolution, and the American Legion for many years.

Warren is survived by his wife, Emma; children, Douglas Lee Allen, Utah; and Dwight Steven Allen, Colorado; four stepchildren, Bonnie Williams, California; Randy Jones, Washington; Vickie Hackett, Florida; and Pamela Campbell, Utah; and a sister, Helen Virginia Peters, Ohio; together they had 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 13th Ward, 4855 S. 300 W. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Wellsville Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
