Jane Dixon Alvey, 75, of Jesup, Georgia died Saturday, September 26, 2015 after an extended illness. The Wayne County, Georgie native was a Baptist and a retired Wayne County Public School Bus Driver and was former employee in the K-Mart Garden Department.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Alvey; parents, Emory and Bertie Thompson Dixon; daughter, Brenda Browning; brother, Barney Dixon.
Survivors are her son, John “Tony” Alvey of Jesup, Georgia; grandchildren, Madielyn and Nathan Lovell of Jesup, Georgia and Dom Frontera of New York; sisters, Mary Purcell of Glennville, Georgia and Christine Pyles of Lakeland, Florida.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Manning officiating. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow Wayne County Bus Drivers.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to service at the funeral home.
