Rev. O. C. Curtis, pastor of the First Baptist church, conducted the final rites.
Pallbearers, all nephews and great nephews of the deceased, were Kenneth, Merl, Roy and Warren CUDD, Grady YEARY and Tom COOK.
Interment was in the Ochiltree cemetery.
Obituary
Pearl Elizabeth COOK was born to Mr. and Mrs. Z. H . COOK on January 8, 1886, near Plano, Texas.
In 1907 she came to old Ochiltree and in 1910 was united in marriage with D. A. ABERNATHY, and they moved to the Blodgett community, where they lived until 1914, when they sold out and moved to Artesia, N. M., where they resided until the time of her death.
She had been an active member of the Baptist church since early childhood.
Survivors include the husband, one son, Chester ABERNATHY of Artesia; one step-son, Elvin ABERNATHY of Albuquerque; one step-daughter, Mrs. Preston THIGPEN of California; two brothers, A. R. COOK of Sharon, Okla., and J. W. COOK of Perryton, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
