LEROY D. HARTLEY, RETIRED FARMER DIES
Leroy Hartley of R. R. 1, Illiopolis, died Wednesday at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital (Lincoln, IL). A retired farmer, Mr. Hartley was married to Dorothy Sutherland in 1935 at Illiopolis. He was born in Menard County the son of Dryden and Mary Rhoades Hartley and preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He was a member of the Illiopolis Christian Church and a 50 year member of A.F. & A. M. Lodge 521 of Illiopolis.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, three sons, David of Timnath, Colo., Robert of Chatham and Derald of Mount Ziion; three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Cooper of Mount Pulaski, Mrs. Helen Purcell and Mrs. Mary Berhardt, both of Springfield.
Services were at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the Illiopolis Christian Church, with the Rev. Howard Wakelin officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Illiopolis was in charge of arrangements.
