George E. Fickett was born March 2, 1929 in Onalaska, Washington on his grandfather's homestead. He was a 40 year member of the Eagles in Castle Rock. George was a timber faller with Weyerhaeuser most of his working years and retired in 1989 after 34 years.
He enjoyed wood working and made many pieces of furniture that he would give to his children, grandchildren and friends or donate to fundraisers in the community. He was very gifted with his word work and loved to have people stop by and ask for his help on their projects. While many people saw the gruff side of George, he had a heart of gold and loved his family. He would especially like to talk about his grandchildren and was very proud of them.
He is survived by four sons: Lewis Fickett of Longview, Roger Fickett of Tigard, Oregon, Les Fickett of Silver Lake and Ricky Ficket of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two brothers, Eugene Fickett of Camarillo, California and Miller Fickett of Toutle, Washington; eight grandchildren, Jodie and Scott Fickett; Roger, Jr. and Nick Fickett; Bailey and Oly Fickett; and Ryan and Jacquie Fickett. He also had many friends too numerous to name, but includes special friends Will and Diane Dunn and Bud Tippery.
George is preceded in death by his mother and father, Charlie and Nancy Fickett; three brothers, Charles (James) Fickett, Daniel Chester (Chet) Fickett and Edward Fickett; and a half sister Francis.
