Effie Roberts, the daughter of William A. Roberts (FindAGrave Memorial 31675421) and Hester Penelope Webb, was born on July 02, 1889 in Cherokee County, Alabama and died on October 04, 1974 in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia.

23 January 1911, at Round Mountain, Cherokee, Alabama, Effie Roberts married William Marven Hurley, son of Thomas Lafayette Hurley and Josie Parthenia Brandon. William Marven Hurley was born on March 23, 1884 in Alabama and died on August 12, 1952 in Floyd County, Georgia.

William Marven Hurley and Effie Roberts had the following children:

(1) John Brandon Hurley married Amelia Hall

(2) Ivanelle Hurley married Samuel Newton Jr. "Billy" Boggs

(3) Berta Lee Hurley married Ervin Maxwell Weber

Mrs. Hurley
Mrs. Effie Roberts Hurley, 85, of 2010 N. Broad Street, died at 2:20 p.m. Friday in a Rome Convalescent home following an illness of several years.

Mrs. Hurley was born July 2, 1889 in Cherokee County Alabama, daughter of the late W. M. and Hester Webb Roberts but had resided in Floyd County the greater pat of her life. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and her husband, William M. Hurley, Chief of Police at Tubize for many years preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1952.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ivanelle Boggs and Mrs. Ervin Weber both of Rome; one son, John B. Hurley Sr., Rome; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with the Revs. LeRoy Smith and Jack Atha officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery. Pallbeares include R.H. Harwell, Ben Mashburn, E. b. Morgan, Ralph Totes, Luther Trammell and Dewey Fowler.

Jennings Funeral Home has charge of Arrangements.
